Elk

Midwestern New Mexico Elk | Gila

Description: Operating on over 100,000 acres of private ground behind locked gates will give you the advantage on this 100% fair chase hunt. The genetics in the area will not be surpassed anywhere. If you’re looking for a good mature bull this destination has them and most bulls will score between 310 and 350 B & C. Some of their top bulls have scored 407, 405, 398, 421 and so on.

The terrain consists of Pinon pine and juniper country and a lot of it is really open. Hunts are conducted through spot and stalk techniques. All guides are local to the area and know the ranches well.

Accommodations:  Nice lodging, private rooms, new barn with walk-in cooler, meat processing and a full time cook with excellent meals.

Transportation/Getting there: Hunters can fly or drive to camp. If flying hunters will fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico and rent a vehicle to camp. Airport pickup is available for an additional fee.

Trophy Elk 300 Minimum

Rifle Hunts:

  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (2x1 guiding) - $11,500
  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (1x1 guiding) - $12,500

 

Muzzleloader Hunts:

  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (2x1 guiding) - $9,500
  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (1x1 guiding) - $10,500

 

Archery Hunts:

  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (2x1 guiding) - $9,500
  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (1x1 guiding) - $10,500

 

Trophy Elk 340 Minimum

This outfitter designates some of their trophy ranges to those hunters that our only looking for a huge bull! These ranches consistently produce 340-390 bulls. There are only a very limited number of these tags available for Archery and Rifle each year.

  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (2x1 guiding) - $13,500
  • 5 Full Days of Hunting (1x1 guiding) - $14,500

 

Dates:

  • Archery: September 1-24
  • Rifle: Any 5 consecutive days from October 23-December 31
  • Muzzleloader: call for dates

 

Included: lodging, meals, guiding 2x1 (unless otherwise stated), trophy preparation of game taken, and landowner tags

Not Included: airfare to Albuquerque, NM, transportation to/from airport, hunting license, meat processing, taxidermy, and tips/gratuities

Approximate license cost: landowner vouchers are included but clients must purchase a Non-Resident hunting license for approximately $650
