Moose

Newfoundland Moose

Description:  Newfoundland is home for the Eastern Canadian Moose and has the highest moose population per square mile than anywhere in North America. Newfoundland offers the prime habitat for the Moose to thrive in. Trophy Eastern Canadian Moose are bulls from 40-55 inches, in fact 40-50 inch bulls are quite common at this destination.

Hunts take place in a remote backcountry location which is 650 meters above sea level high. These hunts are fly-in hunts from Deer Lake to the lodge located on Rainy Lake. Helicopter option available.

This destination can give you a hunting adventure of a lifetime and provide you the opportunity for a Trophy Newfoundland Moose. Calling is their main method while hunting during prime time hours and then using high vantage areas to spot and glass animals during mid-day. Success rate is 99% for Moose.

Accommodations:  There are two 34x20 ft cabins. Clients have their own cabin with two rooms with two hunters per room. The other cabin is where the cook and guides stay and where the kitchen, bathroom and shower is located. All cabins are heated with wood stoves, there is generated electricity and hot and cold running water.

Transportation/Getting there:  Newfoundland Canada is the most easterly province of Canada and we are a island in the North Atlantic. This destination is located on the West Coast of the Island and the hunting lodge is located high on a plateau above the biggest lake in Newfoundland called "Grand Lake."

If driving to Newfoundland you will cross the boarder at Houlton Maine and then drive through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. North Sydney, NS is were you will find Marine Atlantic which offers ferry service to the island twice each day. 

If flying then most likely you will go through Toronto, Canada and then to Deer Lake Newfoundland. For clients that fly there is a ground transportation shipping service for the meat to be shipped back to the USA.
