Maine Draw Moose

Description: The State of Maine has the largest concentration of Moose anywhere in the continental US. The Moose here are what are considered "the Canadian Moose.”

Every year clients at this destination shoot trophy moose.  One or two make it in the Maine Antler Scull & Trophy club. The largest weight moose taken at this destination was 1,056 lbs dressed, and the largest spread for antlers was 60 inches.

All of the guides are very experienced moose hunting guides, and are excellent at calling and stalking moose.  They have the knowledge and the special equipment to get your 800 to 1000 lbs moose out of the woods whole.  After weighing and tagging at a station, (and a little showing off) the moose are taken to the butcher for processing.  Or, if you choose to do your own butchering, there is a a large walk in refrigerator at camp to store your moose in.

Once your moose is down and at the butcher, your guide will be assisting the other guides until all or most tags are filled. And you sure do appreciate the extra hand when your one of the hunters that’s left that hasn't filled their tag yet.

Accommodations:  Comfortable tent camp style accommodations or in a comfortable cabin.  Location to be determined upon draw.

Transportation/Getting there:  Hunts can choose to drive or fly to camp.  The lodge is located on the outskirts of Jackman, ME and is just 15 miles from the border of Quebec.

Hunters who choose to fly will fly to Augusta, ME, rent a vehicle and drive approximately 2 hours to the lodge.
