Description: The Mid Asian ibex is spread throughout all the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and can be found in good numbers. Therefore, Kyrgyzstan is considered to be one of the best, if not the best, destinations in the world for the premium quality Mid Asian ibex hunts although they can also be hunted in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. It is a well-known fact that some of the biggest trophy entries in the SCI record book come from here. Every year a number of exceptional trophies are still collected here by trophy hunters that come from all over the world. Ibex is hunted for intensively in the areas south and east of lake Issyk-Kul, on the border with China and Tajikistan.
Most hunting areas are at the altitude of 3000- 4500 mt and the Ibex can be hunted at any mountain located north of country but mainly near China border, at Isky Kull and Naryn Regions. However we recently started to hunt a new area, which is located towards west of Bishkek.
The hunt requires long hours of horseback riding to reach the heart of the hunting area as much as lengthy glassing sessions during the day. Once a desired size of trophy animal spotted, a last stalk on food will be executed.
Accommodations: Accommodation is in comfortable base camps, with good cooking. But hunters should be ready to move and fly camp when necessary. Since ibex normally live in higher areas (3.000 to 4.500 m) and will come down to lower altitudes only during winter, the hunt can physically be demanding at times.
Although any Kyrgyz hunt involves extensive horse riding, good physical condition is also as necessary as the ability of placing a precise shot even over long distances at times. To make the hunt easier, sure footed, sturdy Kyrgyz horses are being extensively used on this hunt.

Mid Asian Ibex hunt requires 7 day-hunting although a hunter in good shape can complete it in 3- 4- days. A tentative itinerary for Mid Asian Ibex could be as follows:
Day 01............Arrive in Bishkek, transfer to the hotel (depending on arrival time)
Day 02...........Transfer to the area (10-14 hours)
Day 03-09......Hunt Mid Asian Ibex
Day 10……....Drive back to Bishkek and overnight
Trophy treatment and Shipment
The skin of the animal is carefully treated. Ears and lips are turned and salted and the scull is boiled and cleaned properly. Later, the trophy is carefully packed for shipment. After all papers are prepared which are necessary for the shipment, the shipment is sent to the address that is provided. Hunters might as well take their trophies home with them if there is enough time for the trophy preparation after the hunt. Receiving the trophies could take couple of months and shipment cost is around US $750 -800/each animal depending on the address.

Dates: August 15 through November, January until the end of February
Included: custom handling, hunting organization up to mentioned days, one trophy fee of mentioned specie, hunting license, gun import permit, area fees, transfers from/to Bishkek, full board accommodation in the hunting area, interpreter and local guide.
Not Included: international & domestic air fares, visa cost, trophy shipment, insurance, gratuities, hotel accommodation before/after the hunt, personal expenses, and potential Observer fee - US$2,000
