International Hunts

New Zealand | Stag, Tahr, & Chamois

Description:  Since 1992 this destination retains an enviable reputation for maintaining the highest possible standards in professionally organizing and implementing New Zealand Trophy Hunts. Their two exclusive high country properties and privately owned hunting lodges in the central North Island as well as our free range concession for Chamois and Tahr in the Southern Alps.... guarantees you an unparalleled hunting experience. They retain the country's most dedicated and experienced hunting guides. Not only do they possess a thorough knowledge of the terrain and wildlife, they are great companions, have excellent attitudes and are superb judges of trophy heads. This outfitter sets the standards' that their competition still strives to achieve.

This outfitter is trophy minded and is seriously committed to supplying “Trophy Quality Heads" and the premier experience they’ve built their reputation on... but not at the expense of some “good ol" kiwi fun!

Accommodations:  The purpose built hunting lodge sits right in the middle of the hunting area, near the headwaters of the Rangitikei River and is ideal for both hunters and non-hunters. Located on a sunny knoll and surrounded by stunning views of mountains and magnificent scenery our lodge has six guest rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.

There’s a large deck area from where you can spot game, and a private Jacuzzi area with a large brick BBQ that can be lit as a fireplace for ambience when the cooler temperatures pass through. The lodge is equipped with satellite internet and a wireless system for guests with laptops, and we also provide a complimentary WiFi and a guest computer so you can keep in touch with home.

There is an in-house chef who prepares nothing but the best New Zealand cuisine, and a housekeeper to service your rooms and provide a laundry service. There are always team members on hand to offer you assistance with anything, even if it's just to keep non-hunters company or to arrange ‘outings' to the nearest town.

Tahr & Chamois hunting

When you embark on a Chamois and Tahr adventure, you fly you in the outfitter’s Cessna 206 directly from the Alpine Lodge in the North Island, to the South Island base...over some of the most stunning coastline in the South Pacific in the world. The lodge is situated just 50 meters from the quaint Fox Glacier village and sits nestled at the base of the breathtaking Glacier, classified as a World Heritage Area.

Sambar and Rusa hunting

When you hunt for the finest Sambar and Rusa in the land on the sundrenched and elevated Te Puke estate you can put your feet up after a great days hunting in our personally handpicked motel accommodation. Just a 5-minute drive away, our favorite motel has spacious and immaculate studio rooms where you and your guide stay exclusively. Only 20 minutes from New Zealand's most popular tourist destination Rotorua, you can combine a cultural trip with the hunt with your own personal guide!

Transportation/Getting there:  From the United States, New Zealand is an overnight flight from the West Coast (approx 12 hours flight time). Air New Zealand flies directly from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Auckland International Airport (North Island) - RCO can book your tickets for you if needed.

Los Angeles is 19 hours behind New Zealand time. Please remember when you fly to NZ you lose one day, so when booking flights make sure you allow two days to get here!

From Auckland you will need to catch a short connector flight (60 minutes) to Palmerston North Airport where you will be met by one of the lodges hunting team. You will be transferred to the lodge in a scenic two and a half hour drive "up country" with plenty of photo opportunities along the way!

When traveling from the Northern Hemisphere, we recommend an overnight stay in Auckland or Palmerston North to shake off the jet lag.

NOTE: The lodge arranges the preparation, expediting and shipping of your trophies through their professional taxidermist and shipping agent. It takes approx. 90 days to get your trophies back to the US, indicative pricing available upon enquiry.
