Description: This destination boasts over 70 I.G.F.A. records, and is Costa Rica's premier fishing lodge. It’s world renowned for both its inshore and offshore fishing and is home to a host of fishing opportunities.
They will be more than happy to customize a fishing adventure package to suit any angler's desire, from inshore to offshore to fishing the riverbanks. For offshore fishing, you can expect to catch marlin, sailfish, tuna and dorado. And, inshore there are rooster fish, snappers, Bluefin, Trevally, Crevalle Jack, Corvina, Amber Jack, Triple Tail, Rainbow Runner, Grouper, Sierra Mackerel, Barracuda, Permit and Pompano. In addition, fishermen will have the ability to select their tackle of choice, from ultra light to fly. Their captains are well known for their persistent and competitive nature and are all trained to ensure that our guests experience the ultimate fishing adventure during their stay with us.
All marlin species are caught year round with the peak time for blues being November, December, March and April while the black marlin peak in July and August. Sailfish and dorado are common year round, peaking from November to May and November to April respectively. Inshore, try your hand at roosterfish ranging from 20-70 pounds and over a dozen types of snapper ranging between 15-100 pounds. Other species available include large yellowfin tuna in the 200-300 pound range often found feeding under large schools of porpoise. Schoolie sized yellowfin are available year round and bigeye are also common.
Their fleet of boats consists of a Contender 32ST, TwinVee Catamarans and custom built 28 foot center consoles. Each custom sportfishing boat is equipped with the newest Raymarine E series electronics, tuna tubes, live bait wells, Fusion audio systems and outriggers. All of our guests will fish with top of the line equipment and highly trained and experienced captains.
Accommodations: Surrounded by the beauty of Costa Rican wildlife, idyllic foliage, and private beachs, this lodge offers guests a variety of activities accompanied by luxuriously appointed rooms. Both fishermen and their non-angling companions and families can be accommodated at the newly renovated lodge. The lodge has 19 beachfront modern guest suites each with air-conditioning, satellite TV, daily maid service, mini bar, and hair dryer. After a day of fishing or exploring the Golfo Dulce, enjoy a massage, a walk along the private beach that stretches for miles, or relax in the beachfront pool or Jacuzzi.
On the property, you will find a great variety of colorful tropical fruits and organic vegetables, such as coconuts, pineapples, star fruits, mangos, microgreens, beans, melons, squashes, ginger, herbs, tomatoes and papayas, which are served fresh on a daily basis at our gourmet restaurant.
Transportation/Getting there: Upon landing at San José airport, you will be greeted by our English speaking representative and escorted to a four star hotel for an overnight stay. Early the next morning, you will be transported to the regional airport for a 45 minute flight to Golfito. Upon arrival, our skipper representative will transport you on a short boat ride to the lodge. You will then begin your first full day of fishing. Upon your return in the late afternoon, you will be able to relax, swim or beach comb before joining the restaurant for dinner and socializing. Day 2, etc. begins with breakfast served at 5:30am. Dock time is at 6:00 am where you will begin another full day of fishing. The morning after your booked fishing days, breakfast will be served and you will be transported back to Golfito where you will catch your return flight to San José.
A valid passport is required that will not expire for at least six months after arrival.
Transfers: All packages include all domestic roundtrip transportation from San José airport to the Lodge.
Baggage: The maximum weight limit on the fight to and from San José and Golfito is 25 pounds. If your luggage exceeds this limit, excess baggage fees may be charged.
Gear: Lightweight shorts and shirts, rubber sole shoes, wide brim hats and 30+ sunscreen. Lightweight rain gear is suggested.
